Nutrition counseling at the Olson Center is a valuable educational tool for our patients.  Jaime Stevens, the Olson Center's nutritionist, helps educate pregnant women on healthy eating during their pregnancy including appropriate weight gain and the benefits of breastfeeding.  Also, she educates patients on anything else related to prenatal and postpartum nutrition including but not limited to: anemia, pica, weight loss and infant feedings.  Nutrition counseling also includes enrolling our eligible pregnant women on the WIC program and provides them monthly WIC vouchers for healthy foods.   WIC provides nutritious foods, nutrition counseling, and referrals to health and other social services to participants at no charge.  WIC is effective in improving the health of pregnant women, new mothers, and their infants.  For more information, please call Jaime at the Olson Center at 402-559-4500.
